Civil Engineering refers to the design of Structural frames and foundation for the Plant. Structure frame and pipe supports are to be designed carefully to accommodate the piping and various equipment in the Plant. Structural layout shall be designed based on the requirement for supporting the pipe (pipe rack) or holding the entire system (piping skid) or to act as monorail or to include several piping and equipment to work as a unit etc. 3D modelling tools are extensively utilized to see whether the Structural design is meeting the requirements as desired.

Process design is the very basic part of the Piping Engineering. Piping system to be designed to meet the desired demand by including all safety features for the estimated life period.
IIPED is capable to deliver optimized Process design ensuring the safety of the piping system. In-house experienced Chemical Engineers with proven track record make use of advanced computer solutions for the design. Thus the quality of the Output shall not be compromised at any point of the design. Advanced instruments which are available in the market for accurate tracking and monitoring of the operation of the system shall be installed in the Piping. The output of Process design is the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
Process design also includes the static hydraulic and surge analysis study of the Piping system. The Process Engineer must design the system in an optimized manner, for example selection of pump shall be done to deliver the accurate pressure (or flow) by considering the pressure drops due to fittings and other in-line elements. In addition, suitable surge protection devices shall be designed to reduce the impact of transient events in the system, after careful analysis.
